Secondary Gains

Introduction
Have you ever had a habitual behavior that you wanted to stop but couldn’t?
Most people spend all their time trying to figure out why they would continue to do something that they know is “bad” for them, but what you need to pay attention to is something called Secondary Gain.
Basically, the secondary gain is the unconscious need that you fulfill with your behaviors. If we look at overeating, everyone knows it’s bad, but it usually satisfies emotional or unconscious desires we have.
