Lesson #38
Starving The Beast
by Jim Katsoulis
Introduction
Instead of fighting cravings head on, you can weaken them over time.
When you notice negative habits also notice the things that go with them.
For example, if you snack at night, think about where you do it (living room, kitchen), what else you’re doing (tv, computer), who’s there (or not there), etc.
Once you know these things you can switch them up. You can eat at the kitchen table instead of on the sofa, or you can turn off the tv when you’re eating. The idea is to weaken the addictive behavior by removing components of it that aren’t as enjoyable as the eating. Which makes the whole behavior less addicting and easier to stop.
