Using Instant Gratification

Introduction

You need to use your hardwired desire for Instant Gratification if you’re ever going to transform your body permanently. Notice I said USE, not ignore or fight against.

Stop trying to avoid pleasure from food, instead expand your definition of pleasure. Sure, fattening foods may taste better than healthier foods, but which makes you feel better physically, mentally and emotionally in the short and long term?

Notice how you feel when you choose the salad over the burger. Think about your energy level 20 minutes after you finish. Become aware of the feelings of momentum, confidence and accomplishment you get everytime you make a good choice and what it would mean to string more of those together in your life.

The beauty is that you get all these things the moment (not when you lose 20 pounds) you make the healthier decision and for a LONG time after you’re finished, while taste is enjoyable, it only lasts for a few minutes.
