Getting Support From People

Introduction
Understand that when you change your lifestyle it’s going to impact the people in your life. Some people will support you and some won’t, and it’s important that you deal with those who don’t because it’s very difficult to eat well and exercise if you have people around you trying to sabotage you, consciously and/or unconsciously.
You need to make an intentional effort to get the people that matter to you, on your side supporting you in your new behaviors. Change can be scary (especially if you’re not the one who initiated it), so it’s important for YOU to take the first step to reassure them you still love them, find them attractive, etc.
Share the pain the extra weight has caused you and let them know how this change is going to improve not only you, but also the relationship you have with them.
